国际学院是北京语言大学直属二级单位，承担北京语言大学国际教育交流与合作等有关办学活动。国际学院是中国（教育部）留学服务中心出国留学培训基地之一，依托国内重点本科大学的优质教育资源，借鉴国际先进教学模式开展办学。国际学院致力于培养具有国际视野、通晓国际规则、能直接参与国际合作与竞争、有社会责任感的国际化人才。

International College, a college directly under the Beijing Language and Culture University, undertakes the international education programs and exchange projects in BLCU. International College is also one of the training bases of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, a public institution directly under the Ministry of Education.
